London Drama's non-residential two day Workshop-Conference: Drama Now! ~ and the Way Ahead 2017 titled How Can Drama make the Impossible Possible? will take place on Friday 7th April and Saturday 8th April 2017 at Goldsmiths University of London, New Cross in partnership with Goldsmiths Centre for Arts and Learning (CAL) and the Department of Theatre and Performance.

The aim of our Conference is to inspire you by bringing together a diverse range of Drama, Theatre and Performing Arts teachers and practitioners, who are currently involved in the field of education, from London and beyond in order to enable links and put you in touch with one another to share current projects and practice.

The Conference will provide you with an experience of:

  • A Keynote speech by Jacqui O'Hanlon, Director of Education at RSC;
  • Five practical workshops led by Drama and Theatre practitioners including playwright, Mark Wheeller;
  • Two opportunities to present a paper or make a presentation about YOUR work;
  • A performance by London Bubble Youth Theatre;
  • A “marketplace” of opportunities and support through Drama/Theatre organisations in London;
  • A wide range of resources via London Drama Bookstall.
  • Great opportunities to collaborate and network with Drama colleagues;
  • Be stimulated, challenged, supported and inspired!

STEP is a borough-wide partnership linking the theatre community and education and youth sector in the London Borough of Southwark. STEP aims to equalise, extend and deepen the theatre and drama experience of all young people living in Southwark through the development of strategic partnerships between schools, youth and community groups and theatres and performing arts organisations. STEP's objective is to work closely with Southwark schools, youth and community groups and theatres and performing arts organisations to develop creative approaches to learning and provide innovative projects which stimulate children and young people's personal development and contribute to their educational attainment.
