Neil Bettles studied Performing Arts (Drama) at Middlesex University. During this time he performed with Green Candle Dance Company (Sadler’s Wells) and Tons and Tons Dance Company (Bedford Corn Exchange). Neil is now working in dance and physical theatre as a freelance director, choreographer, performer and teacher.
Since working with Frantic Assembly as the Assistant Director on Dirty Wonderland (2005) for the Brighton Festival, Neil has worked closely with the company and its Artistic Directors to develop workshop models for each new production. As Frantic Assembly’s Creative Learning Associate he has delivered workshops and residencies across the UK and abroad, including a recent extended residency at Alice Smith School in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Neil is the Creative Associate for Frantic Assembly’s Ignition Project, co-directing Scar Tissue (Brighton Dome, 2008) and Out of Reach (Toynbee Studios, London, 2008).
The Workshop will take place in the Judi Dench Rehearsal Studio, The Unicorn Theatre, 147 Tooley Street, London SE1 2HZ. Map

STEP is a borough-wide partnership linking the theatre community and education and youth sector in the London Borough of Southwark. STEP aims to equalise, extend and deepen the theatre and drama experience of all young people living in Southwark through the development of strategic partnerships between schools, youth and community groups and theatres and performing arts organisations. STEP's objective is to work closely with Southwark schools, youth and community groups and theatres and performing arts organisations to develop creative approaches to learning and provide innovative projects which stimulate children and young people's personal development and contribute to their educational attainment.
